Read the Word:
Isaiah 30:15-18
Meditate on the Word:
We live in an age of commoditized panic. Competing interests market disaster and fear, then present themselves as the only possible salvation from the fear they have generated. This industrialization of fear only serves those who profit from it. But fear does not lead to great decision-making, and panic leads to impulsive and dangerous actions.
I remember my swim qualification training in the Marine Corps. In full clothing and gear, we would jump off a high-dive into very deep water. Wearing a lot of weight, soaking wet clothing, and far underwater, it is very tempting to start trying to swim when you first hit the water. To just relax was counterintuitive, but necessary. If you started trying to swim too soon, you could be headed sideways, or even down. It was necessary to keep calm, relax, and wait to start floating upward. Then, you could swim directly up to the surface.
How often do we, in panic or fear, start doing something instead of seeing which direction God is taking us? How often do we fail to trust the direction He is taking us?
Pray the Word:
Repent of any area of your life that you are not trusting to Him.

Put each day in God’s hands and pray for guidance in all actions and decisions.
