At Sappony Baptist Church, we're always excited to welcome new visitors. We hope you'll join us for a service, and we want to make your visit as comfortable as possible. Here's what you can expect when you come to our 11:00 service.
Our church is located at 13045 Concord Sappony Road, Stony Creek, VA., and parking is located beside the church. If you have mobility restrictions or young children to carry, feel free to use one of the spots closest to the door. We like to keep them free for visitors and people who need assistance.
Please don't worry about what you'll wear to church, for we truly believe people should come to God as they are. You don't need to dress up to get his approval--that comes through Jesus' sacrifice. Once you walk in the doors, you'll see that the congregation has all types of people in all kinds of dress. You are as likely to see members in jeans or khakis as you are a suit.
Sunday School for all ages starts at 10:00. The adults meet in the sanctuary. If you arrive before 10:45 for the service, you are welcome to come on in for the conclusion of the discussion.
Since we have no vestibule in our historic building, the front doors take you directly into the sanctuary. Almost any of our members can give you the tour of the building and show you where the children's area, fellowship hall, and restrooms are. We want you to feel at home.
Infants are welcome either in the nursery or in the sanctuary, whichever the parents prefer. Older children are welcome to worship in the sanctuary with the adults. We find children to be a delight, not a distraction. After all, Jesus said, "Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God." (Mark 10:14, ESV).
