Read the Word:
Mark 13:3-10
Meditate on the Word:
Peter, James, John, and Andrew had a natural question. Jesus had just told them that the Temple was to be destroyed. The Temple Complex was huge, solid, and beautiful. It would take something devastating to destroy it. So they wanted to know when. They were also wondering what signs would let them know that this was about to happen. While Jesus would provide some of these answers, He was not interested in providing a timeline of the end times. Jesus did not want His disciples to sit about waiting for His return. He wanted them to be busy.
Note that in spite of telling them that bad things are going to happen, Jesus tells them that the gospel must be preached to all nations. This is a command that He would reiterate immediately before He ascended into heaven. This was the all-important task that He gave to us. This is what we must do.
Pray the Word:
Ask the Lord to give you an opportunity to share the gospel today.
