Read the Word:
Psalm 93:1-5
Meditate on the Word:
I know someone who loves to tell stories from the past in vivid detail. She relays the events of days gone by with great clarity. But sometimes, others who were there do not remember things exactly the same way. Sometimes our mind fills in details that we do not remember. Sometimes we remember things the way we want to. This person is not lying when she tells the stories, but either she (or another witness) might be mistaken on some details. Or, perhaps the two just saw things differently. If a group of people witness an accident, investigators will receive varying accounts of what happened. This is part of being human.
But there is One whose testimony is “completely reliable.” Our Lord God, who has an eternal perspective knows everything. With Him, there is no doubt and no questioning. There is absolutely no possibility that He is lying. There is no possibility that what He says did not happen or is not remembered correctly. There is also no possibility that what He has claimed for the future is wrong. Even though we may be fallible, He is not. Let us therefore trust in the words of the Lord today.
Pray the Word:
Praise the Lord for His reliability and holiness today.
