Read the Word:
Psalm 107:1-3
Meditate on the Word:
This short introduction to this psalm is packed with great reminders. I love that this psalm starts with a reminder to “give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.” Of course the psalm goes on to list great things that the Lord has done, but specifically we are to thank Him because He is good. We owe God thanks just for His nature, before we even start listing the good things He has done for us. Essential to His good nature is the fact that His faithful love endures forever.
Even if our God never gave us a thing, He deserves our love, our praise, and our thanks. But we have an even bigger reason to give thanks to the Lord. We are reminded in verse 2 that we have been redeemed from the foe. That means that while we were formerly in the custody of Satan, we are no longer. Again, even if God never did another thing for us, this is reason to give Him thanks.
Pray the Word:
Focus on giving thanks to the Lord today.

good way to start a day.
