Meditate on the Word:
We have been looking closer at this passage this week for a reason. We live in a culture that encourages, glorifies, and celebrates sexual sin. We who know the truth of the gospel must necessarily look at this topic differently than the world. We must see these sins as something that is inappropriate for the follower of Christ. Being united to Him, it is wrong for us to defile our bodies.
Since our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, it is important to keep our bodies in the best condition physically and spiritually that we can. After all, our Lord deserves our best, not our leftovers. He deserves the best of our time, energy, and focus. And He deserves a clean and dedicated dwelling place. Let us pay attention to the use of our bodies and attempt to glorify Him in everything that we do.
