Read the Word:
Isaiah 35:3-7
Meditate on the Word:
I have long been fascinated with abandoned buildings. I am apparently not alone because there have been TV documentaries exploring these places and social media personalities who tour abandoned malls, hospitals, schools, amusement parks, etc. Places that were once full of life and activity that closed because people quit going to them. Factories that went silent because people quit buying the products. Roadside attractions that the Interstate Highway system bypassed.
I also greatly enjoy seeing when people restore these places and life returns to them. This is a bit of the picture that we get from this passage, when the ransomed return to the promised land. After a time of abandonment, we see restoration of life. This is a picture of what God does to us; He takes us from being neglected dead shells and brings us back to life. There is great joy that comes from this.
Pray the Word:
Thank our Lord for restoring you to life today.
