Read the Word:
Hebrews 6:13-20
Meditate on the Word:
God has never made a promise that He is unwilling or unable to keep. That does not mean that He is required to keep His promises on our timetable. In His wisdom, He knows the perfect time to provide what He has promised. The point of the promise is to provide us with hope to help us to endure. When God promised Abraham that he would become a great nation, He didn’t immediately give Abraham children. Instead, He required patience and endurance from Abraham until the perfect time.
When He promised that Messiah would come, He did not immediately send our Lord. Instead, He waited until the perfect time and place in history to send His Son. God required patience and endurance from His people until the perfect time. It is the same with Christ’s return. This promise is sure, even as the previous promises were sure. It will happen at the perfect time. In the meantime, God requires patience and endurance from us until that perfect time.
We can always trust in God to be true to His promise. His promise is always a reason for His people to hope. Let us trust in Him and His promise today.
Pray the Word:
Thank God for His promises today. Commit to living in light of His promise.
