Read the Word:
Revelation 19:1-9
Meditate on the Word:
The holiday season we have just entered is a good picture of our situation on earth. We celebrate that Christ has come, and rejoice in the salvation that He has provided us. But even while we decorate, have parties, and exchange gifts, our celebrations of this season are limited. We are still confined to an earth that is fallen. We are still confined to bodies that will eventually fail. Everything is not yet fully right. But one day, it will be.
Part of our celebration of the season is earnestly looking forward to the return of our Lord in His glory. We cannot ignore this. We cannot claim to love the Lord and yet dread His return. Instead, we wait as patiently as we can, longing for the day that He returns. And we keep to the tasks that He has given us while He is gone.
Pray the Word:
Tell our Lord today how much you look forward to His return for His people.
