Read the Word:
Psalm 69: 1-5
Meditate on the Word:
We all have times when we feel overwhelmed by our situations. The distresses that surround us are many. People we thought of as friend can betray our trust. Families can let us down. Illnesses can keep us confined to bed. Storms can bring destruction to our lives. Sometimes, these things and more can happen to us all at once, leaving us feeling as though we are sunk in deep mud, even up to our necks.
At these times, our enemy would love to convince us that it is useless to call out to God. That He doesn’t want to rescue us. That we deserve our situation or even worse. That His grace is not sufficient for us. After all, He knows all our sins because none of them are hidden from Him. But God does delight to rescue us, even from the miry clay that we ourselves wander willingly into. When we are sunk so deep that we cannot possibly pull ourselves out, that is when we must rely on God to miraculously free us.
Pray the Word:
What situation(s) are overwhelming you today? Call out to our Lord for rescue.
