Read the Word:
Job 19:23-27
Meditate on the Word:
I cannot read “I know my Redeemer lives” without hearing them in the wonderful voice of singer Nicole C. Mullen. This is a wonderful thought full of hope. It recognizes that no matter how we are suffering, our Lord is in control over it and will deliver us. Job, the speaker of these words, knew suffering, yet his hope was in God.
What is often overlooked in this passage are the words, “Even after my skin is destroyed, yet I will see God in my flesh.” Job has a clear hope of resurrection from the dead. Yet, when he spoke these words, no one yet had been resurrected from the dead. From our vantage point in history, we know One who has been resurrected from the dead, thus providing our hope of resurrection.
Pray the Word:
Tell our Lord how much you long to see Him.
