Later this month, we will celebrate a holiday dedicated to giving thanks to the Lord. For the last several years, one of my friends has used his Facebook account every November to post something he is thankful for every day and to encourage others to do the same. It is always a good time to remember to be thankful to the Lord “for He is good.” He is so good, in fact, that He has redeemed His people from the power of the foe. We cannot overstate how good this is.
We can be prone to wander. The month of Thanksgiving is a good time to gather. As we plan our gathering with our families, let’s remember the even bigger gathering that is promised to us in the future when Christ calls us home. Let’s allow our celebrations in our homes to be a miniature version of the rejoicing that we will experience on that day.

Give thanks to God today for gathering you into His family.
