Read the Word:
Acts 1:1-11
Meditate on the Word:
How great must it have been for the apostles to have had Jesus back with them for the forty days after His resurrection! Then, on the day of the Ascension, they are left standing there staring up into heaven. Jesus had promised to send them the Holy Spirit–a promise that would be kept in ten days. But something else great was promised to the apostles that day, which is Christ’s return. Specifically, “This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.” We still await that day.
Many keep looking for signs that His return is imminent. Many have varying viewpoints on what that day will look like. But, His return is promised, and for those who love Him, that will be a glorious day. Those who do not love Him have a lot to fear on that day. Which group do we fall into?
Pray the Word:
Thank the Lord for His gift of the Holy Spirit and His upcoming return.
