Meditate on the Word:
I once heard a wise man say that God gives us the weather to show us how little control we actually have. Another wise man I know has often quipped that we cannot do anything about the weather; we just have to accept what the good Lord sends us. I think that it is only human to like some types of weather better than others. But it is helpful to remember that God sends the rain or withholds it. The earth and everything in it points to God’s marvellous creativity. It is all designed for His purposes.
The outstanding variety of not only weather, but plant and animal life, when observed closely, gives us reason to praise Him. A look at the sky to see the sun, the moon, the stars, planets, clouds, and everything else we see should be a reminder to praise the One who created them. Let us get outside (or at least look outside) for a few minutes today and ponder the greatness of our God.
