Read the Word:
Luke 22:66-71
Meditate on the Word:
This week, we have been looking at the different gospel accounts of the trial of Jesus before the Sanhedrin. Luke’s account doesn’t focus on the false witnesses, but instead on the Sanhedrin’s question of whether or not Jesus will claim to be the Messiah. Jesus’ response demonstrates His knowledge of their hearts. “If I do tell you, you will not believe.” These people are not interested in the truth; their hearts are hardened to it.
Many people today have hardened their heart to the truth that Jesus came to call them to repentance. They would rather accuse than to find out the truth. They want to keep living their own way instead of acknowledging that He is returning in power and glory. Let that not be said of us!
Pray the Word:
Pray for someone you know who does not believe. Ask the Lord to soften their heart to the gospel.
