Read the Word:
Numbers 20:22-29
Meditate on the Word:
“Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all my days were written in your book and planned before a single one of them began.” (Psalm 139:16). While this verse was written hundreds of years after the death of Aaron, it must have been obvious to Aaron that God knew exactly how many days He would give him. He also provided Aaron strength for each of those days. The last act of Aaron’s life was to climb a mountain and pass his priestly garments to his son. Aaron was 123 years old at the time.
I have often observed great strength and endurance from people who serve God late into life. They may not be climbing literal mountains, but they continue along daily doing whatever the Lord has commanded them to do. I have also often heard the argument of “I’m too old to do anything.” My argument is always that God will give you strength to do whatever He has called you to do at whatever stage of life you are in. Even if it’s climbing a mountain at the age of 123.
Pray the Word:
Pray for the Lord’s strength to press on and endure today.
