Read the Word:
Romans 3:21-31
Meditate on the Word:
Can you imagine if our ability to receive salvation was based on our ability to meet the requirements of righteousness? If we had to earn our way into heaven? If if were a competition? Some people might then feel like they had some bragging rights. Others would feel the despair of never being able to measure up.
It is helpful if we think of God’s law as a measuring stick. It shows us all the ways in which we all fall short. It is a great reminder that we cannot be righteous on our own. We all require a Savior. This is why none of us has the right to boast. We only have the right to boast if we can perfectly keep the law, which none of us can.
Pray the Word:
Thank the Lord for the sacrifice of Christ which paid for your sins.
