Read the Word:
Philippians 3:7-11
Meditate on the Word:
Saul was young, smart, connected, and upwardly mobile. He had been educated by the best there was. He was certain to have a life of luxury as a religious leader. With his connections and reputation, he was a bit of a rising star. People listened to him. There was no one that could have stood in his way. Except for Jesus. That encounter on the road to Damascus certainly changed him.
All that he had thought was important before was unimportant. His position and influence were gone when it came to be known that he was a Christ-follower. His life of ease was replaced by a life on the road, proclaiming a message that many did not want to hear. He was arrested, beaten, and nearly killed. Yet, his love for Christ saw him through. He recognized what is truly important in this life. Do we?
Pray the Word:
If you dare, ask the Lord to remove anything in your life that stands between you and Him.
