Read the Word:
Psalm 100:1-5
Meditate on the Word:
I have heard people say that they are fearful for their children because of the way the world is now. This makes sense, because in many ways, the world seems to be a more fear-filled, fear-inducing place than ever. There are wars and rumors of wars (Matthew 24:6). Sin abounds, and along with it hate, violence, and terror. We would like to have our children grow up in a safe world, but this is not the case. Truthfully, it has never been the case. And, as our psalmist points out today, “For Yahweh is good, and His love is eternal; His faithfulness endures through all generations.”
God’s love endured through the generations of thousands of years of sin, hate, violence, and terror before. His love continues to endure through all generations. There have been amazing godly people raised up in all these generations. It is our job to help our children and grandchildren become those good, godly people in their generation. And God has placed them in this time and place “for such a time as this.” (Esther 4:14). So pray for your children and teach them so that they can rely on God when things are tough.
Pray the Word:
Thank the Lord that His faithfulness endures through all generations.
