Read the Word:
Psalm 61:1-4
Meditate on the Word:
Are there times when you feel worn out for no apparent reason? You’ve eaten, slept, and even had coffee, but still you just feel exhausted? Maybe you feel all alone, even if you are around people all the time? Or, maybe there are worries that you cannot express even to those closest to you. I feel like some of these feelings may have been what the psalmist was going through. When he writes, “when my heart is without strength,” this sounds like those times when I am feeling completely exhausted while my mind is going 100 miles per hour.
It is at times like this that we should remember to seek the Lord even more fervently. We should remember to ask Him to carry us to the rock high above the fray. That we should take shelter under His wings from the storms of life that abound. It is times like these that we should lean into God more closely and cling more tightly to His protection and grace. It is not our job to comfort and protect ourselves. We are unable to do so. But God is able. Let us rely on Him.
Pray the Word:
Tell the Lord about those things which weigh heavily on you. Allow Him to comfort you.
