Meditate on the Word:
It has been said, “Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future.” This is because we often become like those whom we associate with regularly. Our behaviors and attitudes can be affected. Our choices can become controlled by what others would think. This is a real problem if we are Christians who are being influenced by those who are not.
Instead, we are called to be sanctified, or set apart for God’s use. We are His. Our attitudes and actions should reflect His character, not the character of a sinful world. This is much easier if our friends and associates are also believers. We are able to strengthen and encourage each other.
Pray the Word:
Ask the Lord to reveal to you any associations or affiliations that you need to break in order to more fully reflect His character.
