Read the Word:
Romans 8:22-25
Meditate on the Word:
The world is a painful place with sickness, sadness, and suffering. This is all the result of sin. When God created the world, He made it good. This means perfect, without blemish. Humans brought sin into the world and have been suffering the results of it ever since. We see our world ravaged by all manner of evil in the same way that we might watch a loved one waste away from a terminal illness. Sin is a terminal illness.
When our Lord returns, we will all be completely healed. So will all creation. There will be no more sin, death, or sickness. But we do not live in that world yet. Until then, we have to wait in this world of suffering and woe. For those without hope in Christ, this is a terribly depressing thought. But for those whom Christ is rescuing, we can rejoice knowing that the best is yet to come.
Pray the Word:
Tell our Lord about any suffering you are experiencing and thank Him for the hope of His return.
