Meditate on the Word:
This world could certainly use some peace. Mankind has been at war with each other for a very long time. From nations fighting against nations, to terror groups engaging in bombings, kidnappings, and other acts, to individuals killing neighbors and even family members, this world is a long way from peace. Even those who do not commit physical violence against others often hate their neighbor and slander him. This world is a long way from the way it will be.
This picture in Micah is awesome. The promise that weapons of war will become farming implements is encouraging. The promise that people will never again train for war is a beautiful thing to look forward to. All of mankind’s efforts to usher in world peace have failed. But the Lord will usher in this time of peace with His return and the defeat of His enemies. What an amazing thing to look forward to.
