Read the Word:
Psalm 118:14-24
Meditate on the Word:
Every victory is celebrated for a time. Whether it’s a victory in a sporting contest or winning a war, people will celebrate for a day or so, then usually return to their normal lives. Most people I know spend the day after Easter going back to work and school, and figuring out what to do with the leftovers from the meal and the candy from the kids’ baskets. The celebration seems to just die off, and there’s a bit of a letdown.
Christ is no less victorious than He was yesterday. He is no less risen from the grave than yesterday. We are no less saved by grace than we were yesterday. Today, however, instead of engaging in celebration all day, we are meant to turn to the work that His resurrection requires of us. Instead of being drained from the celebration, we are meant to be energized by call upon our lives. Let us continue to go and let others know of our Lord’s victory!
Pray the Word:
Thank the Lord for opening the gates of righteousness for you.
