Read the Word:
John 12:1-11
Meditate on the Word:
Judas and the chief priest are proof that someone can see the works of our Lord and yet work against Him. Judas, who had followed Jesus for His entire earthly ministry, saw the miracles, heard the teachings, and had even gone on a mission trip, found it in his heart to use his position for financial gain. In fact, this episode may have been the thing that tipped his heart toward the more overt betrayal of Jesus. Judas saw this expensive perfume as potential cash, while Jesus saw it as a beautiful gift of love. Yet, in this situation, Judas is not the only one plotting against Jesus.
The chief priests also had a problem with Jesus. Why? People were abandoning their teachings and following Jesus. Instead of seeing Jesus for who he is, they were determined to destroy the evidence of His power, Lazarus, who had been resurrected from the dead. How far from God does one have to be to be willing to kill in order to cover up His work?
Are we working for Jesus or against Him? Do our actions reflect selfless giving to our Lord, or do they reflect our desire for personal gain or position? This week is Holy Week, leading up to our celebration of the Resurrection of our Lord. Let us ensure that we are working for Him and not against Him this week.
Pray the Word:
Confess to our Lord any area of your life that betrays Him today. Repent.

Nice word today!! We are all tempted every day!! But I choose Jesus to follow!! How special to have family that shares!!
