Read the Word:
Exodus 31:1-11
Meditate on the Word:
My last attempt at art was in seventh grade. I, a usually A student, received a C. Because I tried, and because the teacher was generous. Our Lord simply did not see fit to bless me with a bit of artistic talent. The mug that I hand-fashioned in that art class is still here. My grandmother kept it displayed prominently, and it came back to me upon her death. I keep it as a reminder that God chose to give me other talents. I’m still working to identify them.
Bezalel and Oholiab did not have this problem. God had given them great artistic ability and wisdom to be used in the construction of the tabernacle. The tabernacle was to be a sanctuary so that God could dwell among them (Exodus 25:8). It had to be beautiful. So God gave these men immense talent to make it look how He desired. God may have given you artistic talent. If so, how are you using it for His glory. Or, like me, He may have given you another talent (or several) to be used for His purposes. Using these gifts in the way He intended is important to Him.
Pray the Word:
Ask our Lord for wisdom to use your talent for Him today.
