Read the Word:
Proverbs 2:6-8
Meditate on the Word:
Yesterday, we looked at the verses that immediately precede this section and learned that we must take action in order to receive wisdom. Today, we see that God gives wisdom. Of course both of these are simultaneously true. God gives wisdom in response to our seeking Him and His knowledge. This is why daily time in the Word is so important. God honors our time spent searching Him out by revealing Himself to us. This is wisdom.
Our Lord also “stores up success for the upright.” I think that we must be careful to have the right definition of success. While the world may define success in financial terms or in accomplishment, God’s definition of success is endurance. A life spent serving our Lord and serving others is a successful life. And we can only be truly successful by relying on God’s wisdom, not our own.
Pray the Word:
Thank our Lord for the wisdom He has give you today.
