Read the Word:
Hebrews 4:14-16
Meditate on the Word:
Our legal system in the United States provides for someone accused of a crime to receive legal representation, even if they cannot afford to pay for this representation. This is very important, because even though we may read a look of books, or watch a lot of police procedurals, the average person does not understand our legal system. It is big, overwhelming, and very powerful.
Think of a priest in the same way you might think of an attorney. The priest serves to represent the people to God and God to the people. As both God and man, Jesus is able to fill this role perfectly. He knows the pain that we feel, because He felt it. He knows what it’s like to struggle against temptation because He struggled against temptation. He is the one who seeks mercy on our behalf on the basis of what He did on the cross. We cannot possible do this for ourselves.
Pray the Word:
Thank the Lord Jesus today for being that perfect high priest for you.

Thank You
