Read the Word:
Hebrews 11:1-12
Meditate on the Word:
This passage is a nice concise recitation of many of the Old Testament heroes of the faith. These were people who loved God and trusted Him in a variety of circumstances. They trusted God in spite of heartbreak, difficulty, opposition, and even death. These faithful ones recognized that God’s promise is always true, in spite of what the circumstances around them may appear to dictate. Of course we know from scriptures that these were not perfect people. They were imperfect people trusting a perfect God.
What about us? Can it be said that we trust God no matter what? Despite the chaos around us? Despite the health concern? Despite the financial concerns, the career concerns or the many other things that try to take our focus off Him? Do we trust that He is good to us despite our faults and our struggles? Let us remember today that God is always faithful, even when we mess up.
Pray the Word:
Confess to the Lord any area of your life where you have not trusted Him. Repent of this mistrust.
