Meditate on the Word:
Most people have some sort of mental picture of the End Times. Various world religions have eschatological views, including Buddhism, Islam, and Hinduism. It seems that even amongst those who do not know God, there is a sense that this world as it exists is not permanent. More contemporary non-religious eschatological (last things) views have to do with nuclear war, climate change, environmental disaster. The point is that is seems to be naturally ingrained into us that this earth is headed for destruction.
Yet, even though we see this and most believe it, many people do not want to believe that it will happen in the way that Christianity believes, with the return of our Lord. People continue to mock the belief that Christ will return and will judge the earth. This allows them to scoff and to hold to their evil desires instead of repenting and turning to the Lord. Many are going to be dismayed when the end comes just as scripture has told us.
Pray the Word:
Pray for wisdom to understand current events and the last days.
