Read the Word:
Acts 11:19-26
Meditate on the Word:
When those who were opposed to Jesus murdered Stephen (Acts 7), I’m sure they thought it would silence the Christ-followers for a time. Instead, it had the opposite effect. Now, instead of staying in Jerusalem and preaching the gospel, believers spread out throughout the empire. People who likely would not have heard that Jesus is the Messiah heard because His followers scattered. What is it about the gospel that will cause those who have seen someone murdered over it share it anyway?
From the earliest believers, Christians throughout the centuries have considered the gospel something worth living and dying for. People will willingly give up their lives on this earth to see that others have the chance at eternal life. After all, it seems the least we can do for one who gave up His life for us.
Pray the Word:
Ask our Lord for boldness in sharing the gospel with others.
