Read the Word:
Isaiah 42:10-17
Meditate on the Word:
When I was 19, I was working for a national chain of pizza restaurants. The first time I opened by myself, I did not do all the right things in the right order. This can seem like not too big a deal, but what it meant was that when we opened at 11:00, the pasta sauce was not up to temperature. I was unaware of this fact until the district manager showed at just after open and wanted a spaghetti. It went to his table cold. My manager gave me a “talking to” after this. It was embarrassing being caught not having done my job correctly.
Sadly, many people will experience a much worse version of this when our Lord returns. Instead of being found praising Him, worshiping Him, declaring His glory, they will be found distracted by their idols. They will be found worshiping themselves instead of God. They will be found worshiping money, fame, power, etc., instead of the God who has given us light and life. These are the ones who will be utterly ashamed when our Lord returns. Those who worship Him alone will be glad to see Him and they will rejoice even more. Which camp are you in?
Pray the Word:
Give the Lord the praise due Him today!
