Read the Word:
Ephesians 5:15-20
Meditate on the Word:
If you have spent any time observing people, you know that there are myriad examples of people being unwise. You likely also strongly resonate with Paul’s words that “the days are evil.” This seems likely even more true today than when it was written. So how do we walk as wise people instead of unwise in a world that is surrounded by evil and foolishness? We must be filled by the Spirit.
The Holy Spirit gives us a proper perspective on the things of this world. We understand the temporary nature of the world around us. We know that the things which God calls sin are, in fact, not good for us and others. We know, through the revelation of the Holy Spirit, not to be seduced into sinful actions and attitudes. Even more so, we know that instead of focusing on sinful actions, we should focus on loving God first and others like ourselves. We know that the change of attitude leads to the change in behavior.
Pray the Word:
Ask our Lord to help you to walk in wisdom today.
